Best of 2023 - Wedding Edition

As I reflect on the year gone by, my journey as a documentary wedding photographer in 2023 was filled with new places, beautiful moments, and wonderful stories. Let's dive into some of the highlights that made this year special.

In 2023, I had the chance to work in three new places (to me) – President Lincoln's Cottage, DC Line Hotel, and The Liriodendron Mansion.

  1. President Lincoln's Cottage: Working at President Lincoln's Cottage in Washington, D.C., was a unique experience. The historic vibes of the place added a special touch to the weddings I photographed. It felt like capturing love against a backdrop of history.

  2. DC Line Hotel: The DC Line Hotel in Washington, D.C., gave weddings a modern feel. The mix of city energy and contemporary style made each event stand out. From small ceremonies to big parties, there was a blend of tradition and modern life.

  3. The Liriodendron Mansion: The Liriodendron Mansion in Maryland was like finding a hidden treasure. The old mansion surrounded by gardens was a perfect setting for romantic weddings. Each photo told a story of love against the backdrop of this timeless place.

Beyond the venues, what made 2023 special were the emotions and moments captured on camera. From heartfelt vows to joyful dance parties, every wedding had its own unique story. The mix of cultures, traditions, and personal touches showed how love connects us all.

As I look back on 2023, I'm thankful for the amazing experiences and the chance to be part of so many love stories. Being a documentary/photojournalist wedding photographer is not just about taking pictures; it's about keeping the spirit of love alive, creating memories that last, and finding beauty in every moment. Here's to more love-filled moments in 2024!
