Jocat’s Surprise Georgetown Proposal

As a Washington DC proposal photographer, there are a few things that I love more than a surprise proposal photoshoot! Not only do I love getting to help plan this special moment, but it’s also so much fun to witness a couple enjoy one of the happiest moments of their lives. Jocat & Oktawia’s surprise proposal photoshoot was nothing short of special! Keep reading to learn more about this spring wedding proposal.

A Long-Distance Love Story

Jocat and Oktawia’s love story shares a lot of similarities with my own. The couple had met while they were both studying in Prague (the same place my husband and I also met.) After school, they started a long-distance relationship which continued for a few years with Jocat living in DC and Oktawia living in London. They planned a last-minute trip for Oktawia to come to visit Jocat at the end of May, the perfect time for him to pop the question.

Planning the Perfect Surprise Proposal

When Jocat first reached out to me to start planning his surprise proposal, he had an idea of where he wanted to propose but needed help finding the perfect spot. He wanted to plan the proposal in Georgetown, and during our consultation, we decided on a quiet location that was easily accessible by the C&O canal. It was perfect!

Oktawia was completely surprised by the proposal and, of course, she said yes!

This surprise proposal photoshoot was so much fun to be a part of! From planning to photographing the big moment, everything fell into place perfectly!
