Laura & Josh Wedding⎜Washington, DC

Laura and Josh have the sweetest story of how they met that eventually landed them to this day at the Washington DC War Memorial. They both share a love for travel, people, and Nando's, especially. He even got a Nando's tattoo while we were dating. And that’s the reason they picked this location for their wedding reception.

A Jewish ceremony

They chose to not work with a rabbi and actually had their cousin officiate their Washington DC wedding and it really showed how much they cared about their family and having a very sentimental ceremony. Laura is Jewish and for their DC wedding, they had a semi-traditional Sunday wedding with a Chupa, glass breaking, but decided on no rabbi - their 5'2 cousin officiated their wedding. You can read more about the Washington DC War Memorial here.

Their day had so many sentimental parts to it. They used Laura's grandfather's tallit in their ceremony. Her grandfather came back alive after being sent to a camp in the second world war so this was so special to them. They also used her parents' tapestry under the chuppah.

reception at Nando’s

They worked with Nando’s team to make a unique style for their reception. Laura knew exactly what she wanted and it felt more like a collaboration, which I really loved. They were very happy with their engagement photos and even more with their wedding pictures. I highly recommend every vendor I worked with on this Washington DC War Memorial Wedding day! I worked for the first time with Maya of Honey and Lavender Events and she handled the day so well, I am very happy with our collaboration and how much she helped with the portrait session on the National Mall and kept us on time!
